That moment.
You know the one I’m talking about.
You’ve had them. The moment I said it you instantly thought of one of them. The moments that made you. The moments that broke you. But that moment. You know the one. That one. When you close your eyes and think of it you can remember every single detail with absolute clarity. Every word that was spoken, every sight, every scent, and every feeling you had in that moment. You even feel it again as you relive that memory.
That moment.
The one when you had your first heartbreak, you bought your first car, that vacation you’ll never forget, that date that you couldn’t stop smiling on, that disappointment that sank all the way to your bones, the day that you felt pieces of yourself slipping away, the accident that changed everything, the moment that you knew they…they were the one.
Those moments.
So many others. We file them away in the recesses of our minds. Then, just one small thing sparks the memory and that moment comes crashing back over you. It doesn’t matter what’s happening at that time in your life but you’re swept away in the rapids and there is no turning back. It could be a dress that looks just like the one she was wearing when she broke your heart. Could just be the smile on his face that day and suddenly it’s all the ways you love him all over again.
Those moments.
The ones that make you. The ones that break you. The ones that build you. Those, those are your life. What moments are you savoring? What moments are you living in? What moments are you prioritizing in your one extraordinary life? In your memory bank of moments what ones do you pull forward? How many stored up there are the most important things to you? What ones do you want to add to it? Are you doing the things in life that are going to add the moments you want to it?
Those moments.
They add up faster than you think. Making those moments count is all a matter of priority. Find the good, push the things in the way of your happy moment building out of the way, and chase those moments that make you. Chase those moments that build the life you want to have at the end of your life.
Because those moments…they’re worth everything.
